SITUATION:
Balquhidder Station is a small country hamlet just to the north of Strathyre and east of Balquhidder.Balquhidder is famed as - Rob Roy Country - and Rob Roy's grave is in the Balquhidder churchyard. The Braes of Balquhidder are the ancient lands of the MacLaren and McGregor clans. The area has an active local community centred on the village hall. It is also a popular area for visitors due to its relative proximity to central Scotland and stunning highland scenery.Balquhidder is well placed for access to the major towns and cities of central Scotland. Stirling is only 30 miles to the south from where there is motorway access both to Edinburgh and Glasgow and their airports. Loch Voil provides fishing for trout and Arctic Char and there is climbing and hill walking in the surrounding hills. There is Grouse shooting, red deer stalking and salmon fishing can be taken on estates in the area. Loch Earn is a major water sports centre with both water ski-ing and sailing. The ski slopes of Glencoe and Aanoch Mor are within 70 miles to the north west. Perth and Stirling provide a range of other leisure facilities including sports clubs swimming pools, curling, cinemas and theatres.

DESCRIPTION:
The cottage was until recently a derelict farm building. Its conversion by the current owners was completed in 2006. The cottage has been finished in a traditional style with exposed stone walls and a slate roof. Internally the property has been restored to a very high standard. The fireplace in the open plan living area creates a focal point whilst the design maximises the natural light and usable space within the cottage.
