FERRYWAY JENKINS POINT, COSHESTON PEMBROKESHIRE
Along its mysterious banks nestle many of the most beautiful and select treasures of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It’s so often overlooked by visitors in favour of the coast that it has become known as 'The Secret Waterway'. The water forms part of the Milford Haven Waterway - about 23 miles of sheltered, tidal waterway, with many tributaries waiting to be explored.

Affording comfortable accommodation, all main reception rooms and bedrooms boast unequalled views over the formal lawns that slope gently to the foreshore. Set within landscaped grounds that extend to approximately 1 acre, Ferryway offers the most discerning purchaser the opportunity to acquire an outstanding waterside property.

The owners have commented:
“We were just looking for a weekend retreat when we first saw this house. But as we looked out over the water and the huge sky we knew we’d found our ideal home – so we re-thought our plans and moved here permanently!”

And looking out of any window of their home, it’s easy to see why. “The water really is the defining feature of this house,” say the owners. “The views from every room are just captivating. There’s always something going on – whether it’s boats, water-skiers, canoes, the wildlife, it’s an ever-changing scene that you never get bored with. Even now if we go on holiday after 10 days or so we long to return and see the water!

“In fact although we knew this area well even we didn’t know it was here until we viewed this house”, say the owners. “Our house has a dry boat dock and a section of slipway with access to the water – something we’ve very much enjoyed. We also own part of the foreshore and we’ve installed a decked area at the foot of the garden above it so you can sit out next to the water – it’s a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast, or an evening meal as the sun sets in the west over the opposite bank.”

The house itself sits in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park – the only coastal National Park in the UK. “And it’s the overall location that makes it a house with a ‘wow’ factor,” say the owners. “It’s such a tranquil area and anyone who comes to the house for the first time falls in love with it just as we did.

“One of our favourite parts of this property is the kitchen as it really is the heart of our home. As soon as you come into the house you can see through into the kitchen with its beautiful bay window overlooking the water and it just draws you in to see more. It’s a large kitchen with a dining area and whenever we entertain it seems to be where everyone gathers!”

During their time at Ferryway, entertaining has taken several different forms. “We had about 40 people for a sit-down dinner for our daughter’s 21st,” say the owners, “and they all slept here as well! But we also have regular visits from our sailing friends. Having lived on the Devon coast we have lots of friends who like to sail and they often come up along the Waterway, and moor with us for a few days.”

A most unique experience.

For boating enthusiasts a dry boat dock ensures that your private vessel is accessible 12 months of the year. From the dry boat dock a section of the private slipway ensures accessibility to this most attractive part of the river causing little or no inconvenience.
