DIRECTIONS:
The Isle of Wight is accessed by car ferry from Portsmouth (about 40 minutes) to Fishbourne; from Southampton (about 55 minutes) to East Cowes and from Lymington (about 35 minutes) to Yarmouth. Fast catamaran services connect Southampton to West Cowes (about 20 minutes) and Portsmouth to Ryde Pier Head (about 15 minutes), both these services have connections to main line train services to London Waterloo. An electric railway connects Shanklin with Ryde Pier Head where the fast catamaran service connects with Portsmouth Harbour Station to London Waterloo (about 1 hour 35 minutes - fast train). There is a further fast service by hovercraft from Ryde to Southsea (about 10 minutes). From Newport follow the signs to either Shanklin or Ventnor. The drive to Luccombe Chine House will be found on the south side of the A3055, which runs between the two towns.
